ZnSe windows are optical windows made from highly stable, transparent zinc selenide material. These windows feature extremely low infrared absorption and outstanding thermal shock resistance, offering a broad transmission range from 0.5 µm to 22 µm. ZnSe optical windows are widely used in Forward-Looking Infrared (FLIR) and thermal imaging systems, and they serve as ideal resonator windows (cavity optics) for high-power 10.6 µm CO2 laser systems. Boasting low dispersion and absorption coefficients, zinc selenide has a density of 5.27 g/cm³ and a refractive index of approximately 2.4.
