Galvo mirrors (also referred to as galvanometer scanner mirrors) are key optical components in laser scanning galvanometers (galvo scanners). They are high-precision, highly reflective flat mirrors mounted on the rotor shaft of a galvanometer motor, designed to reflect laser beams and rapidly steer their direction at high speeds.
This component is primarily used in the optical transmission systems of laser welding machines, compatible with fiber lasers, direct diode lasers (semiconductor lasers), and other laser equipment. The mirrors must accommodate various laser power levels (typically ranging from 500 W to 10 kW) and utilize water- or air-cooling systems to regulate operating temperatures, thereby preventing thermal distortion from degrading beam accuracy.
A metallic reflective coating or a dielectric reflective coating is typically applied to the surface to achieve the required reflectivity.
