Laser Focus / Collimnation Lenses

Fiber focusing lenses for laser optical systems feature a fused silica substrate with anti-reflective (AR) coatings on both sides. The focusing lens focuses the light beam to generate a focal spot with high energy density for processing target materials. In contrast, collimating lenses are typically used to compress the divergence angle of a divergent laser beam, enabling parallel beam transmission; their design and application are similar to those of focusing lenses.

Depending on operational requirements, both types of lenses can utilize single-element, multi-element, or aspheric configurations. Among these, aspheric designs yield the best performance, followed by multi-element compound setups. These lenses feature high transmittance, ultra-low absorption, capability to withstand multi-kilowatt power levels, and a high damage threshold, making them widely applicable in laser cutting, laser welding, laser cladding, laser quenching, and related processes.
