The reflection-enhancing effect of an all-dielectric reflective coating is based on the multi-beam interference effect. Depositing an optical film on the surface of an optical component—unlike an anti-reflective coating—requires selecting a film material with a higher refractive index than that of the substrate, thereby achieving high reflectivity through a multi-layer coating system design.
