A short-pass filter is a type of cutoff filter (also known as an edge filter) within the category of interference filters. Cutoff filters are generally classified into long-pass and short-pass filters, designed to transmit light within a specific wavelength range while transitioning to reject (cut off) wavelengths outside this range.
