The output line of a Powell lens features a vertex aspheric curvature, which provides a uniform energy distribution. In contrast, cylindrical lenses produce a Gaussian beam profile characterized by a hot-spot center and fading edges. The uniformity of the output line is also highly dependent on the incident wavelength, beam size, divergence, and working distance. To achieve a uniform energy distribution, the vertex curvature must be fine-tuned and optimized for the specific laser beam.
